✾ MISTLETOE MEME ✾

All right guys, since we can't do this in-game, we shall have an OOC meme for it instead! Nothing will carry over into the game, so just have fun with it. Here's how it works:

• You are stuck under a random mistletoe.
• There is a note on said mistletoe.
• Whoever comes within range will be pulled under the mistletoe and also be stuck.
• Now you both have to do what the note says to get unstuck.
• EMOTIONS ARE STILL IN EFFECT so have fun with that.

State your preferences!

1. Hug. Easy enough. Can be a simple hug or a giant bear hug.
2. Kiss on the cheek. For those who might be a little shier.
3. Kiss on the hand. For those who want to be...well, whatever kissing on the hand invokes. Charming? Dashing?
4. Kiss on the forehead. Because sometimes you have to brush their hair out of their faces, and that's cute.
5. Kiss on the lips. 1-2-3 KISS. This is the tame version of the next one.
6. Make-out for five minutes. That escalated quickly!

And a brand new Emp-centric option for this year:

7. Ship crystals! Some of the mistletoe this year is attached to large crystals, and "just a kiss" is not gonna help you here. No, these things want fluff. In addition to kisses, they want you to hold hands, and sit in a cute shop drinking a milkshake out of one glass with two straws, and give each other flowers, and all manner of other disgusting shippy things. And it will not let you separate until you have filled it with enough fluff drops to satisfy it*. Use a variety of different kisses to speed the process up and enjoy your temporary new significant other! Hopefully one or both of you is romantic enough to think of things to do. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

*You can move around and go on cute dates. It will float over your heads as you wander like a horrible crystal voyeur.

There's little point in apologising. It isn't as if you orchestrated this, so I cannot place blame upon you. [as much as I'd like to.]

As for that... if it worked like that, I would say that whomever did orchestrate this whole ordeal would be both disappointed and feel cheated out of their magic.

He reaches up to pull a little slip of paper off of the little tuft of berries and leaves. He reads it... and his expression sours furthur.

He flips it over, a flat look on his face.

Sorry, Jekyll, in terms of what this is asking for...

[And then, because this is actually a very urgent situation and Kevin does not actually have time to troll him, he explains:]

Mistletoe. You have mistletoe by your Christmas tree. Hurry up.

[ When Arjuna flashes him the paper, Jekyll adjusts his glasses to read it. They're supposed to... they have to...

It's like the light goes out of his eyes when he realizes exactly what it'll take to get out of this, and his gaze sinks toward the ground. ]

Ah.

[It's ten years later and Bulat has a farm, and that farm has things like greenhouses and sheep and miniature goats and chocobos and Bulat's somewhat less baby now crocodile, who Kevin sometimes takes naps on when he has a day free to come and help out. He is not napping on the crocodile now. He is, instead, hanging out with his favorite sheep, Doily, who he raised himself from a wee lamb after Doily's mama rejected her, probably because she was freaked out by the iridescent glimmer to her baby's wool.

It's fine, Kevin is also several different flashing colors under direct light so he may as well be Doily's birthmom. They are having a grand time together now playing in the snow, building a Snowcobo. Trouble is, Kevin is running out of snow, on account of he can't presently leave the barrier created by the crystal-laden mistletoe floating above him. The movement won't kick in until someone else wanders into it with him. Ah, well. Bulat will be along to rescue him eventually.

Or Kevin will run out of ways to amuse himself while trapped in mistletoe and whine at him to come help, whichever comes first.]

[On second thought, maybe he should have asked for the arm back. Who knows what Bulat's been doing with it??]

...That's not exactly how I'd put it. But it's a little less weird than kissing my old severed arm, sure.

[Which probably didn't work anyway. Darn picky mistletoe.]

[How did we get here, it's a mystery.]

...I don't think we have enough arms for this.

[So. Guess which cafe is doing a cute Christmas gimmick of trying to demonstrate positivity and love? If you guessed the one Usagi and Allura picked to have lunch and plot out Christmas plans, you'd be right! So while they have a lovely and delicious lunch, they find that while they can't stand up from their seats, they can't really LEAVE. Or rather, Allura figures it out when she smacks into an invisible wall.]

Standing for a long life, honesty and optimism - that doesn't speak well for compatibility.

[ Of course he knows this off the top of his head. He might be talking about Shiro and himself or his likelihood at conjuring up a bunch. Whatever he's thinking about now seems to be taking both time and concentration. ]

[ Allura, that's very concerning. ]

Are you okay?!

[ She heard that bump! She can even hear the lump growing on Allura's head now. ]

I would like to point out that I do have half an arm more than you. I don't think it would be a reach to think we can figure something out!

[And then he's playfully nudging Shiro 2.0 with his elbow.]

Get it?

[Reaching? Oh he felt really clever with that one.]

Just a little less, huh, I see where I stand.

[ Bulat's getting down on one knee because that's the knightly way to do it, Shiro's a paladin - paladinish, in any case - which is basically the same thing. ]

[ That's okay. Watching this sight of Auron being stuck is a pretty good gift as well. ]

Sorry I don't think I'm supposed to interrupt this.

[Sora lets out a small happy laugh and he reaches for the mug to take it and sip at it carefully. He wants to share drinks with Squall so this makes him happy. Sip sip.]

Hmm, it's yummy!

[Squall and his peppermint flavoured things. Heh.]

It's not a weed!

[Sora pouts! But he comes a bit closer and tilts his head with a playful glint in his eye.]

Does that mean I can kiss your cheek?

This is the only time of year I can find this flavor.

[ While Sora seems distracted with his drink, Squall lets one of his hands move up to brush Sora's bangs out of his face. ]

Maybe I should stock up on it.

[ ..... Snort. ]

You look a little preoccupied.

[ Don't mind Squall as he stands at a bit of a distance away, sipping at a warm drink. He's trying to keep it in but he was amused. ]

[Sora is distracted, eyes closing for a second as he takes another sip of the pepperminty drink. It's so good.]

Get a whole crate of it to last you until next year.

Maybe two, since I have a feeling someone might be sneaking some from me.

[ He didn't even have any plans of leaving the mistletoe at this second. He just liked having an excuse to hold Sora close. ]

I'm surprised you like it at all. I thought you only liked super sweet things.

[ When Bulat hasn't heard from Kevin in a while despite being in radius, it means that he's found something that's grabbed his attention - which means, of course, that Bulat's obligated to come see what it is, because this is a farm built on love and thus watching Kevin have a delightful time is not slacking off at all and is, in fact, critical farm work...!

Anyway, he's clearly not napping on the crocodile because Bulat's been working with the orchids that grow in the hothouse habitat. After ten years, he's an expert in managing flower patterns. Getting them to form blotches in particular words and shape is - he wouldn't call it easy, not with all the time he spent inventing the craft. Really, the hard part with these has been his own inability to read music. There's no emotional connection to get it printed onto the petals in the first place, and it's meant to be a surprise for Oswald, so there's no asking that particular expert to help - and this is a mental obstacle, so he's taking a Kevin break.

He knows the farm well, it's fine to get to the good part without detailing Bulat's well practiced husband stalking habits. The good part is Bulat whistling from the barn roof, a fair warning before he whips a hefty snowball at the light of his life. ]

[And he'd been a very good sport about it too. Alice had been shuffled into a festively green elf outfit - complete with ears even. She hadn't minded it herself but then again she hadn't been stuff out into a more rounded shape either. At least the kids had seemed to enjoy it, right?

She stops short as Shiro plants his face right into the barrier, possibly insulated a bit by the portliness of his padded body. She watches the man rebound with a look of concern then makes her way forward to reach out a hand. The barrier is invisible of course but eventually she can lay her palm against it.]

Some sort of effect...

[It says a lot about her life here that she doesn't really sound shocked so much as she sounds curious. How far back can then go from the barrier?

She finally looks over at Shiro and can't help but quirk a half-smile. She's been doing her utmost not to at least chuckle all day. He makes quite the picture in his outfit, okay.]

Are you alright?

[Sora's nearly forgotten about the mistletoe, himself. Wrapped up this close to Squall and drinking a yummy drink is really perfect.]

I drink stuff that isn't super sweet too, you know. [He chuckles.] This is just sweet enough.

Nobody had warned Ritsuka about the mistletoe. Honestly, while one would think she'd instantly recognize it, somehow Christmas in Chaldea had dodged that particular bullet, and as such it didn't quite immediately ping her sense of danger. Plus, the odd crystal attached to one bundle had caught her eye, and she'd approached to investigate.

At the moment, she's reaching to take a look at what the tag says and generally not paying the least bit of attention to her surroundings...

See? Easy.

[ He lets Keith's bangs fall back over his face and tops it off with a pat on the head. ]

Let's get going.

[ NOTHING WORTH COMMENTING ON HERE, JUST A TYPICAL DAY IN VERENS. ]

While this whole thing is definitely a bit.... awkward, at best, it really could be worse. Besides, Ritsuka likes her Servants well enough, giving or receiving a kiss between friends is no big deal, right? Or at least, not as big a deal as Arjuna seems to be making out of it.

"It's fine," she says, perhaps a little amused at his apologetic tone. "Just as long as the wrong person doesn't see..."
