character age listing

Have you ever wondered who the youngest or oldest character in Emp is? Admittedly, I never really thought about it but the topic of age came up in a thread and it got me curious. Then I started checking out how old each character in the game is and started typing everything up, and when I was already regretting starting it, it was already too late. . . I was too invested. :'(

I just followed what was written in everyone's info pages/apps for the character ages, so some may be inaccurate (ie characters growing older in the game). Those marked with a question mark mean they don't have a specified age in their info page/apps and those marked with a tilde are approximates based on the info in their pages.

I can't justify posting this in the OOC comm since it's not like it's anything official, so I'm putting this here.

Now to explain my characters' confusing age deals... (with some SDR2 spoilers!)

Steven Universe was apped in at 14, and he's been in game over two years so he's actually around 16 now, while his body is still physically like 8 because aging is weird for half-gems. (and no 33 ever)

As for Gundam Tanaka... in canon, he's around his early 20s at his canon point, but in-game Gundam was pulled from a digital avatr of himself at the age of around 17, in terms of both his body and his memories. But he's been observing his birthday every year since he arrived, so he'll be turning 20 next month anyway.

Also what happens when canon update is shorter-lasting than the time spent in game? Would the character return from canon update younger than they disappeared? /curious

Dante I guess should be a tilde, technically. I took him from the anime which is shortly after the first game (where he is 28) and decently before the fourth where he's closing in on 40 (about 38).

So he's 29 or 30, I went with 30.

Zams hasn't got a canon age but since Supreme Kai Shin is around 5 million years old and his master Gowasu is at least 10 million years. I guess Zams is around the 200000/500000 years old and mentally a shitty child of 4 years old

AWW YES THIS IS GREAT RIP free time but that is amazing and interesting. God it's weird to think he was 16 since Eikichi is 19 now and Hank is technically 54 since they celebrated his birthday.

Man now I remember doing a survey like this in Smash ages ago maybe we could have a character meme about current ages and like character heights, if they are dating someone in the game, business they own etc.

I was curious so I just did a quick plug of the known listed.

PRE-TEENS: 13
TEENAGERS: 83
"YOUNG" ADULTS: 74
OLDIES: 14
ANCIENT RELICS: 7

("Young" adults went from 20s through mid-40s, oldies are mid-40s through hundreds, and relics are thousands)

So in terms of "kids" vs. "adults" it's 96 vs. 95.

SO CLOSE. Of course this isn't counting any of the unknowns, and it's just going off by the listed age SO WHO KNOWS WHAT IT REALLY IS....

Kevin just turned 28 at the end of September! So he can bump up one.

More importantly, Kolivan's up in the "several thousands", if you'd like a more specific place to put him. We don't have an exact number but we know from supplemental info that he's a founding member of his ninja group thing he leads, and that he was already an officer in the military before he did that. In game I call it several thousand just to be vague, since we don't know how Galra age when there isn't any magic space juice involved, but the way another member of his group talks it's entirely possible and even likely that he's over 10,000.

Which I personally think is very silly but here we are.

Alice Malvin is likely around 23 now that she's been in game 2 years. They don't give a set age for her in canon but since she's been through military school (starting around age 15, I'm guessing) and out in the military for three years when canon starts, she came in at around 21

Just going to add this, Soundwave hasn't got an exact canon age, but going by how long the Transformer's civil war was (which lasted at least 4 millions years andhe was there since the beginning), he should be approx. 5,000,000, if you'd want to have a specific place for him. Also everyone here is children compared to him.

Now for some Allen age things. Technically, he probably ought to be a ~. He was abandoned as a baby and grew up in the circus, so he doesn't actually know his age or his original birthday. He's estimated he was around fifteen when the series started, and character profiles put him at around 16 later. He was adopted on Christmas, and he actually chose that as his birthday!

I will add that Gawain's age is just a guesstimate of his physical age right now, since he's a servant and probably died at a much older age. But he's manifested all young and handsome looking sooo....

Technically Ritsuka's age is a guesstimate (she has no official one) based on the few references made to it (no younger than Mash, still a minor by Japanese standards) but like. her canon involves time travel even if she did have a concrete age given at the start it'd be impossible to say with 100% accuracy by now. :|b

Joining in on age explanation time. DR ages are goofy and require guesswork and things like that. I have Junko at around 16 or 17 when she got to the game because of some numbers given in Zero. But she's also been here for about 4 years, so I've got her as probably around 20 at this point. But it's all just kind of SHRUG. She's technically younger than the DR2 kids, but because of in game time and canon weirdness, once again SHRUG.

I am extremely tickled by this, and quite surprised that someone went through the trouble of trying to list everyone's age. Harold at the moment is about a year older by now, making him 26. unless we go by how old canons are >.>

What's fun about Wuxian is his current age is technically never officially stated and also his mental age and physical age are different...when he died he was probably in his 20's, he implies he's conscious of the time he's been dead so theoretically he's mentally in his 30's, and his current body could be anywhere between late teens and mid-twenties...24's a nice median, right?

I gave Sheena a late-year birthday. As in December. So, she will be turning 22 next month.

So if Elphelt was ten months old when she first arrived, had her first birthday here last year, then was in Empatheias for another 8 months before leaving to go back home where she was still ten months old, and then returned...

How old is she now, here? A few months doesn't matter to most people, but for her she may or may not have lost more than 50% of her life, technically, as she has spent more time here in Empatheias than she has existed back home.

I'll also add that Elphelt's age is an educated guess. Elphelt and her sister were created between the previous game and the current game, which take place 3 years apart, so Elphelt could technically be 1 year + 10 months old. Being 2 years + 10 months old would put her sister's age over 3 years, which is impossible.
