[ To be honest, he volunteered Gawain when Ritsuka scolded him because there was no other fellow Servant he felt he could trust more, but more importantly, while they’re here, he can’t help his curiosity. He knew Arturia’s knights were in Chaldea, of course, but as with most, he hadn’t gone out of his way to spend time with them. He was still in the habit of being alone, for one, and for another thing, he wasn’t quite prepared to navigate all the questions he suspected many of the Servants might have for him. So in Chaldea, he kept to himself most of the time, tirelessly challenging himself in the simulator in hopes of lifting that final seal they need on Excalibur.
Not that he’s told anyone about that, though.
In this place, however, he can’t possibly do the same. It’s harder to avoid the Servants, considering they’re in a new world where the laws of the universe aren’t fully known to them yet. It’s safest to work together, to protect each other and also Ritsuka. The circumstances have given Arthur a rather convenient excuse to indulge himself and get to know how alike and how different his nephew of this other world is from his own.
Traveling the forest with Gawain is... incredibly nostalgic. ]
I didn’t doubt it would for a moment.
[ He smiles at the other knight, perhaps a bit more broadly than he usually smiles. Is it Gawain’s saintly blessing or something else that keeps their path through the woods lit with sunlight? It’s hard to tell. ]
Ritsuka tells me she needs no more monetary contributions, so once I have made a few necessary purchases for a decent dwelling, I thought I would donate the excess to anyone else who might be in need. What about you?
