[Zarkon frowns thoughtfully as he listens to her. He knows this is her area of expertise rather than his, but he's always fascinated by her insights and her developments—even when she goes beyond where he can follow.

He's able to focus on what she's saying and forget some of his uneasiness, as he continues to guide her toward his—their—home. Although he can't ignore the strangeness and the things she's not telling him, there's still no one he'd rather have at his side here. His trust in her continues to settle around her shoulders supportively, now gleaming faintly as it takes on weight.

Yes, emotions are too unreliable. That was my thought, too.

[He makes a faintly frustrated noise, but his frustration is entirely with this place rather than his wife. He personally feels uncomfortable with the forces of this world. He doesn't like it when his emotions take on a life of their own, against his will. He doesn't have control of them, and he likes having control.]

If there was a more stable form of power—that would be so much better. If anyone can refine it, I'm sure you can. But what do you mean by its history?
