TEST DRIVE: October

Welcome to

empatheias' test drive meme. This test drive is to help interested players test their characters in the game's environment. We've included a few prompts that incorporate specific elements of the game, though you'll find all of them have a lot of leeway for players to get as creative as necessary. Before diving in, here are a few things we'd like to remind everyone about the game in general:

Date reminders. Reserves open September 24th and Applications (Canon | OC) open a week later on October 1st. Apps will only be open for four days!
OC Reminder! Just a quick reminder that original characters are allowed. Those interested can also use the test drive. OCs do not need to be reserved.
Emotions are key! Empatheias' premise focuses on how anyone's emotions can affect their environment, be it big or small. While not every emotion will cause a reaction, significant ones definitely will. How much effect a character will have will ultimately be up to you, the player. Also, while we're giving a lot of leeway for the test drive, keep in mind that there will be some limits in the actual game.
Everyone has an amulet. All characters have a unique amulet that is specialized for them. It will contain all of their emotion drops and it serves as the network device. Remember, communication is telepathic. Otherwise, it works basically the same.
Assume the character is already in the game. Because "OMG WHERE AM I IS THIS REAL LIFE" threads aren't going to be very helpful in this test drive! Plus, those are going to happen in-game, anyway. So to make things easier, just assume that they've been around at least a week or so. Still learning the ropes, but not a complete "first day" experience.
First or third person allowed. Your threads can be in either first or third, but we'd advise being flexible about it. Remember, these threads can also be used in your application for samples! Reminder: We only require one sample and it can be done in either format. We have also made a change to our sample requirements, so look over the Applications page!
Transfer to in-game. If accepted, you can assume threads made on the Test Drive happen in-game if the scenario can reasonably fit. For new characters, these threads do not count for activity check. However, these can be supplementary threads for players already in-game.

Now with that out of the way, here are some prompts you guys can work from!
PROMPTS
• Prompt A: How about giving the emotions a try?

• Prompt B: Refer to the Task Board and choose a task your character may be interested in taking up. For this prompt, you could have your character ask for help, already be in the middle of the job, or react to it in some way. Perhaps they were an unfortunate victim or want to create a job countering an existing one. You could even have a prompt making a job request. Creating jobs for the purpose of the test drive is absolutely doable.

• Prompt C: How about giving the amulets a go? Start a telepathic conversation and see how it works. Remember, the amulets are sending out the owner's thoughts so might want to be careful about how the stream of consciousness goes...

• Prompt D: The new season has brought some interesting merchants into town from the outlying cities, and one peddler from Theasthai in particular is creating a lot of buzz with his magical masks that he claims will bring good fortune and riches to the wearer if worn for a full day’s time. Some masks are ordinary and will have no effect, while others...are a bit more unusual. For a modest fee, you may rent one of these masks, but be sure you return them within three days...or the consequences may be dire. Oh, and mind that once the masks have been put on, they cannot be removed until midnight of the following day! Choose wisely...
1. Paper Faces on Parade: Sure enough, many of the masks have strange effects on the wearer’s emotional state. Some may alter their behavior and make them more peaceful or more aggressive than normal, while still others will have more significant effects, like encouraging its wearer to give the next person they see a great big hug or a genuine compliment, whether they like it or not. In cases where the wearer may not go along with their mask’s persuasion, they may find the mask growing tighter and tighter around their head! But if they give in to whatever action the mask suggests, they will find themselves overcome with feelings of accomplishment and satisfaction. It’s not such a high price when it’s just a hug or a compliment, but hopefully your mask doesn’t want you to throw a pie in the face of the next person you see, or even worse, try to kidnap them...
2. Master of Disguise: Yet other masks appear blank when they are put on, and to the wearer, they will continue to appear as a blank, unremarkable mask. But for others who look upon the mask when it is being worn by another, they will see someone important to them who is not currently present in Empatheias. Is it their long-lost best friend they see? An old flame? A bitter enemy? Better think quick! Who knows how they may react to the person they see you as.
3. A Terrible Fate: So, you forgot to return your mask in time, did you? The mask salesman is absolutely not happy, and even if you attempt to return the mask later, he will not accept it. He promises retribution to come soon, and in the next few hours you may start to notice that it almost looks like the moon is getting closer to the island. But that can’t be possible, can it? Yet over the course of the day, it will appear to you as though the moon is rocketing closer and closer to the island, dead set on a collision course! You should tell someone, right? The only problem is...no one else sees the same thing you do. They don’t notice the moon at all! What will you do? Evacuate the city, or submit yourself to asylum? Or commiserate with a fellow offender who neglected to return their mask on time?
• Prompt E: In the wake of the fundraiser hosted by Otherworlders earlier in the month, a certain miniature local celebrity will be making a follow-up appearance at Verens’ mobile petting zoo! Currently set up in the city’s central park, the petting zoo will offer opportunities to both feed and play with a wide range of animals, including goats, alpacas, pigs, rabbits, deer, sheep, and of course, regular-sized ponies for rides. There will also be a few domesticated wyverns available to interact with, for those who aren’t put off by the horns and teeth! While the zoo itself seems to consider its primary audience to be local children, visitors of all ages are welcome and encouraged to enjoy themselves.
1. Feeding Time: Of course, the petting zoo’s primary attraction is the chance to get up close and personal! There are apples and carrots available to be offered to the animals that favor them, as well as plenty of ordinary feed that’s available for a small fee. Some of the animals, however, are less interested in the food and more interested in what their visitors are wearing— goats can be caught nibbling on shoelaces or pant legs, and more than a few hats will be snatched off of heads by curious alpacas. Others are far less mischievous, with rabbits, piglets and fawns that are far more than happy to take any offered snacks and respond affectionately. Whether you’re spending time with one of the more docile animals or having to chase down a mischievous hat-thief, they’re all certainly happy to have visitors!
2. Goat Racing: Taking some inspiration from chicken races of the past, the petting zoo would like to introduce Verens to everyone’s new favorite sporting event: goat racing! Attendees are free to place their bets on goats— all money will go to supporting the zoo itself and continued care of the animals, but the prize is that anyone who happens to pick the winner gets to take one of these little guys home with them for the day! Surely, we’ve all dreamt of temporary goat parenthood. Pick your favorite to win! As it turns out, however, the goats are easily distracted and many will keep wandering away from the race to chew on whatever they can get their teeth around. Some kind and focused encouragement will go a long way towards helping them get back on track, but be careful not to overwhelm them! They’re under a lot of pressure, here.
3. On the Lamb: One of the attendants has accidentally left the gate to one of the pens open, and as a result, there’s suddenly a dozen sheep on the loose! They’re quick to scatter, and many will run off to various parts of the Merchant’s Square and towards Canal Street, with the potential to fan out towards other parts of the city as well. Do your best Bo Peep impression and help to round them up! The sheep are easily spooked and agitated, but projecting a sense of calm and other soothing emotions will help to keep them calm in turn, and make it easier to close in and guide them back to their handlers, while impatience or frustration will spook them further and cause them to flee. Patience is absolutely the key to bringing these lost lambs home!
• Prompt F: Magical Girls are the latest craze in Verens! A local group of enthusiasts have heard enough stories from Otherworlders that they want to create their own festival based around it. Of course, nobody actually needs to be an magical girl to participate, nor does gender necessarily matter. No, this is an event for those who appreciate the genre or just want to have some little fun. For each event, there are star gems to be won, which are traded in for sweet goodies, so why not give it a shot? Extra points for those who come in a magical girl costume!
1. Talent Show: Every magical girl has some kind of skill or ability, right? In this event, anyone can show off their pose, speech, transformation, animal-sidekick... whatever they feel best represents a magical girl! Put lots of enthusiasm into it! Everyone else attending the convention must rate their performance on a scale of 1 to 10. The higher the rating, the more star gems you win!
2. Battle Royale: A closed off part of the city has been reserved for more serious magical girls, where the rules allow any magical girl to challenge the other to a fight. There are no rules for how they wish to engage in fight, apart from the loser having to relinquish all of their star gems to the winner. Do you challenge a fellow Otherworlder magical girl? Or do you form a team with one to beat some of the natives, who also fight as magical girls? Be careful, they're quite good at using their emotional effects to their advantage!
3. Gacha Galore: It's the end of the Magical Girl Festival, and now it's time to turn in your star gems. But there's a twist! Nobody gets to choose their prize, but instead they have to pay 20 star gems and let the roulette pick their prize. If you got what you wanted, feel free to show it off! And if not? Well, maybe somebody can trade?
• Prompt G: Make your own! It could include pumpkin spice and/or buckets.

[ If you were enjoying your morning coffee and accompanying silence, then I'd like to apologize in advance for this rather loud and excited attempt at telepathy by a girl who literally gasped in her thoughts. ]

DO THEY MAKE PUMPKIN SPICE SUET FOR BIRDS?! [ Yeah this is SUPER IMPORTANT because she'd love to share the Fall flavors with Piyo-piyo, but he's a bird so it...probably isn't easy. ] Or are pumpkin seeds bad for them? Come to think of it, a pumpkin seed would be way too big for him to eat...

[ That realization is a bit of a downer for her, which will probably have the area around her looking a bit less saturated in color than usual. ]

[ She'd be damned if she ever admitted to liking visiting places like zoos, but a petting zoo? Yeah, there's no way she's skipping that. Granted, she tries to play it cool. That is, until she sees what looks like an actual, literal dragon and she's understandably and visibly taken aback. ]

Oh my God, that's so cool! [ Wait...oh. Her face pales a bit as she hopes nobody heard that rather cheerful exclamation. Nobody who's aware of her at least. It does sound like something Nyuu would say, so...maybe she should run with that?

As if sensing her panic, the wyvern leans its massive head in toward her to give her the gentlest nudge with its snout it can as if expecting a treat. She grumbles a bit under her breath before producing the snack given to her by the petting zoo attendant, and the wyvern makes a rumbling noise in its throat in satisfaction. She sighs as she reaches up to pet its massive muzzle in easy strokes. ]

...yeah yeah...enjoy that, I guess.

[ Similarly to her often sour-faced other self, Nyuu is completely taken with the petting zoo. The baby animals in particular have her lapsing into her catchphrase far more often than usual, and honestly, it's hard to tell if the fawns and goats are cheered by that mewing tick or by her sunny disposition itself.

While she's typically all smiles, she yelps as one of the bigger kids plucks her hair ribbon right off of her head, exposing the horn it was tied around. Naturally, she tries to grab the ribbon before the goat can fully chew and swallow it, leading to a rather humorous tug-of-war between them. ]

W-Wait! No! Don't eat that! That's my hair ribbon! That's really bad for your stomach!

[Apparently the masks must have had some kind of brain-washing effects, because no one else seems to notice let alone care that the moon is quickly approaching the island. Bakugou doesn't understand how it's not affecting the tides or anything else, but eventually it will and he has the simplest solution in mind.

He's going to murder the moon.]

[The mourning of your eardrums is the only warning given before a spiky, blonde blur of anger and violence torpedos past, explosions firing off to take to the heavens.]

[He's always wanted a pet dragon. Bakugou seems to be in the middle of a staring contest with one of the wyverns, his arms folded and brow set grimly while they silently communicate with one another.

Apparently he does something to offend the wyvern who goes mouth first for his fist. Growling, Bakugou bares his teeth and bites at the wyvern's face to prove his dominance.]

I. goat "racing"

[See Tae-Jun. See the little goat nibbling happily on his red cloak. See, most importantly, the irritated would-be goat wrangler listening to Tae-Jun try to explain himself about... something. He's mid-story, it seems:]

—so when I said I was taking a bet, what I actually meant to do was make the other participants nervous to encourage her to run more quickly!

[The other... goats... to make the other goats nervous? Yes? This is, obviously, not at all convincing, so after he's met with a blank look he just barrels on:]

My brother always told me to strike fear in the hearts of our enemies by any means necessary, so you see, it was obvious that I should make such an outrageous bet regardless of the means to back it up, but my subordinates- [he flinches, minutely, because he doesn't have a single goddamn subordinate here-] -should be gathering the funds as we speak! They've been trained in the art of subterfuge, and—

[It's just going to keep getting worse unless someone intervenes.]

II. animal house, but uncool

[The sheep may be easily spooked, but Tae-Jun is most definitely even worse. He's all but trampled by a gang of escaped sheep when they dash toward him - or rather, he promptly dropped to the ground in a near faint, like the disaster he is, and now he's just lying on the ground with half a dozen sheep milling around him. A few of them chew on his hair or his cloak, apparently more concerned about this agitated human than they are about being in a mysterious place they shouldn't be.

Tae-Jun's anxiety is, of course, ramping up the static electricity the sheep's wool can carry as they bump into him and each other; beware trying to shoo them away, if you choose to help get him off the ground.]

III. talent show...

[Now, Tae-Jun is not at all planning on getting up on stage. Not a chance. But he does have a... prop of sorts shoved into his hands by someone managing the show, some kind of stick painted pink and red with ribbons all over it, and he's told that posing and shouting a catchphrase is all he has to do!!

He's still not getting up on stage. But since everyone is busy looking at the stage, and he's easily wrapped up in delusions of various questionable glamours, he finds his own little tucked-away space to sort of— not pose, but act?

There is stick-wand waving involved. He appears to be trying to look heroic. This lasts up until he spots someone looking at him and abruptly freezes, holds the stare for a solid couple seconds without moving, and then chucks the stick wand directly at their (your, probably) face and turns to run.

He trips. No one wins.]

IV. wildcard?!

[i...... yes. he's a hot mess, so hit me with anything.]

[ Todoroki was a bit in awe when he encountered Rin and Haru's wyvern a little while back, so to see them up close again is pretty neat. Although he also is fond of the rabbits as well, personally.

Granted, his attention is drawn elsewhere. Of course there's an element of surprise when seeing his classmate, but what comes out of his mouth first is more dry. ]

You've always been somewhat primal, but isn't that a little too much?

[Everything almost feels opposite in Verens. In this new world, humans encourage emotions of every person that comes with an amulet, hoping that such acts will fill the crystals and contribute to the rejuvenation of this planet. Back home, back in Detroit, he and his people are thought incapable of experiencing such feelings.

Despite that, he doesn't hold deep hatred for the humans, nor does he have much inclination to talk to them about anything too significant. In fact, he's far more comfortable keeping to himself, a feat that is easier now that his LED is off. It's safer this way.

But Simon can't argue that it's nice being outside. Although, he's kinda enjoying the scenery by... standing in the middle of the pathway in the park. There are also small flowers growing by his feet, but he doesn't notice. Maybe tell him to get out of the way? Or he can be an unfortunate accident of a runaway animal...]

[It's honestly odd to talk with humans in a similar manner that he did with other androids, but Simon is mostly fine with that. He just has to be careful to not let any thought go unannounced. Even if Jericho isn't here and most of the people aren't from his Earth, he never wants to reveal anything about it to others.

He's still uncertain talking about deeper questions with others, so he tries something far easier.]

Cats or dogs?

[Of course, he could just not talk to them at all, but he can't ignore them forever.]

[Taking care of pets is part of his programming, but that's not why he's currently petting a small rabbit after feeding it a carrot. Simon's doing it on his own accord and he enjoys it. Maybe a part of him misses this after all this time. Once his old life ended, it was mostly trying to keep those in Jericho safe and mediate between North and Josh.

And now, he doesn't have those responsibilities. Simon wants to care for someone again.]

Ah...!

[Simon lightly exclaims, as the rabbit goes running towards your character instead.]

[ooc: Simon's canon point is just returning to Jericho after Public Enemy.]

[Ah, it's him. The anxious fire boy. Jae-Ha witnesses that stampede just a little too late, but thankfully, Tae-Jun seems to be alive. Stepping through the sheep and not seeming to mind the static that occasionally clicks at his arms as he pushes, Jae-Ha only stops once he's in the center circle of the herd, leaning over him in his amusement.]

Come now, shoo, shoo. [He waves at the few chewing at Tae-Jun's hair, first of all, and then crouches to find his face, hands on his own knees.]

Of all the people I thought I might find here, I wasn't expecting you. Are you alright?

[You're looking a little stressed, buddy.]

[Having a runaway animal is the opposite of Connor's current problem.]

Sumo, come on...!

[One struggling android in uniform is attempting to move a large dog who possibly weighs more than he does after said dog has decided it's done with exercise for today. It's a nice day in the park, the grass is soft and the sun is shining just right—therefore, it's apparently time for a lie down. Connor unfortunately doesn't have the strength to physically get Sumo to move, although he's certainly trying. He stops and huffs after another attempt, shaking his head in defeat.]

Maybe I should have brought treats...

[Connor is a bit too distracted to notice the PL600 in his vicinity just yet, but the blue indicators on his jacket are literally neon signs pinpointing him as a fellow android.]

[Markus isn't going to be much help as far as warning Simon to get out of the way. He sees Simon and he stops - at first he thinks it can't be, the same way that he'd looked for Simon in the face of every PL600 who sought refuge in Jericho after they left him behind, hoping against hope that he'd find a way to escape. But somehow he feels it - it's like his heart recognizes Simon, and this time he knows he's right.

His amulet burns sweetly against his chest, a shining bright periwinkle that's almost white, with the emotion that surges through him, too much for him to process, his code starts, stops, skips. Starts again. Alerts and errors spring up and he pushes them aside. Magic pours out of him unbidden, a bed of bright and colorful flowers swelling up at his feet.]

Simon.

[Hearing Connor's struggle brings Simon out of his thoughts and when he turns to look at the source of the noise, a look of surprise envelops his face. It's another android and not just that, but one from his world. The blue lights are truly a big giveaway.

Well, he's definitely not going to ignore this android's plight. Even if the model looks unfamiliar to him, Simon doesn't think he has anything to be concerned about. Maybe it's another android built to take care of domestic work, since he's watching over a dog? Or perhaps the opposite, since he's struggling. Even an old model like him knows what to do in such situations.

As he steps closer to Connor, Simon begins to advise.]

Saint Bernards respond well--

[But Simon immediately stops, his mouth closing and his feet becoming frozen in place when he notices just who this android really is. RK800... Connor, the deviant hunter. The one that almost caught Rupert, the one that's been confronting deviants over Detroit. Yes, he's very well aware of him.

He can definitely feel his stress levels rise. Simon still has that gun that Markus gave him--]

[ There is one girl who's having an absolute blast being surrounding by a hoard of animals all wanting the food in her hands. Hotaru is laughing up a storm as they crowd around trying to get at it. She doesn't quite notice there's a goat behind her chewing on her skirt but it's okay because she doesn't mind at all. Though Mama Setsuna might have some words for her if the goat manages to take a bite.

A sheep pushes its way through the group then proceeds to stick its tongue out to get some of the hay in her hand. ]

Hey now, wait your turn. There's enough for everyone.

[ Unfortunately Hotaru is not a Disney princess with the ability to speak to animals so they just continue to press in around the young girl. Help her out? ]

[ When she heard mention of a Magical Girl contest, it had gotten her attention. At first she'd been content to stand back and watch but when they start handing out star gems, that's when this particular girl decides she needs to participate. Thanks to her three mothers, Hotaru has a wide variety of talents she could show off but it's probably not a good idea to show off her solar system making skills so instead the girl chooses to play the violin. The piece she's playing is Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. After all, Hotaru is not about to show off her real Magical Girl abilities.

Except that isn't all that's happening up on stage. With every note she plays, an image starts to form though thankfully (for those who know of Hotaru's abilities) it isn't any sort of big prophecy about the future. ~~This time.~~

Instead, it's merely a vague image of a two people dancing. The woman may or may not have nearly floor-length hair and the man definitely has a cape. ]

[ Anyone who comes by where Usagi and Setsuna live will notice there's a new resident living there. In fact, it's hard to miss Hotaru when she's outside playing with Usagi's overly-large dog Orion. She has a bucket full of flowers - one bundle tied with blue ribbon - and is trying to get the dog to carry it into the house. A second bundle with a purple ribbon is held in her hand. ]

This is a gift for our moms. So you go in and deliver them to your mother while I give mine to Mama Setsuna, okay?

[Connor is half turned around at the sound of the voice when he freezes in place himself, his mouth half-open and grass turning brown beneath him like the seasons have suddenly changed. He watches Simon uncertainly for several seconds, his LED blinking yellow (red for a fraction of a second) as he recalls his last experiences with androids of this appearance. And apparently, judging by the reaction... it's familiar with him, too.

Could this place have revived Daniel to such an extent? Or—is it Markus' ally? He hopes it's the latter, even if... that comes with its own set of problems. A phantom error arises in his interface, reminding him of damage long gone—and some damage he never suffered at all.

What does one even say in a situation like this?

[ The cutest most precious sight anyone could ever witness. No, of course Haruka wasn't being biased at all. It's not like she would ever claim her precious little Hotaru was the most beautiful and loveliest being on the planet. Oh wait, she would.

As swift as the wind, Haruka makes her way over to Hotaru and the giant dog. She clears her throat to make her presence known.]

And what does Papa get?

[ In the very short time since her arrival, Hotaru has come to realize that Usagi has a lot of visitors - many of them friends which isn't much of a surprise. Their princess is the sort who others just want to be around. So Orion is the first to notice the presence of a new arrival. Or the first to look anyway.

A very familiar voice comes from behind and Hotaru spins around instantly because... ]

Papa Haruka! [ Hope Haruka is prepared to have this little girl launching herself at the older senshi because Hotaru is definitely coming in for a hug. There's no chance of dislodging her anytime soon. ] You're here!

[ Best day ever? It's pretty close. ] What do you want?

[ Seeing her eyes light up as quickly as they did really made her heart flutter. She was the most perfect daughter, everyone else go home!

Haruka laughed and crouched down low just so she could scoop her up with ease. As if she would want Hotaru to leave her side for even a second. The wind had never steered her wrong before, so she followed it here and she was happy she did.]

I already have my prize.

[ She boops Hotaru on the nose with a smile. ]

[And suddenly, Simon feels his surroundings fade as he hears his name being voiced just a short distance away. No matter how quaint and enjoyable the park is, it's all background noise as he turns to face the other android, his processor prioritizing him above everything else right now.

Markus. It really is him...

Simon begins to feel his biocomponents run faster and even though he should do a self-diagnosis, he forgoes it. H-he feels fine, in fact, better than fine. So why would he need to perform such a test? Seeing Markus is the closest thing to returning home and it's not just because he's the leader of Jericho, which is how Simon views him now, but because he's given him and the others hope.

The last time he saw Markus, the other was handing him a gun, unable to bring himself to shoot Simon despite the risk he posed. It truly meant a lot to him, that he was willing to take that risk for him, even though he was still upset about being left behind. Honestly though, Simon wasn't sure what he would've done if he was in Markus' shoes. But now... but now, there's no way he'd leave Markus behind if he could help it. He's the true leader of Jericho, of their people.

There's so much he wants to say to him, but Simon only steps forward.

I was afraid. I thought I was going to die.

Those were the main thoughts running through his mind as he hid in that crate, but he doesn't voice them out loud. Simon only looks at Markus as a warm, but strong breeze passes by them.]

Markus.

[ Surely Papa hasn't forgotten all of the trouble Hotaru has caused while growing up. Shame she grew up way too fast but at least it appears she's stopped for the time being.

Those arms wrap around Haruka's neck with all the strength she possesses -- sorry there are flowers poking the older senshi's shoulder. As happy as she is to have her Papa, it doesn't seem fair that one parent gets a gift and the other doesn't.

Hotaru seems deep in thought when the boop comes and interrupts. She blinks. That's when it comes to her! Wiggle wiggle! But it's obvious she isn't trying to actually get down. ]

Papa! [ Despite what might seem like a protest, Hotaru sounds pretty happy. Even laughs.

Then one hand goes to the pocket of her dress and she pulls out... a yellow ribbon! Ta-dah! Like having just performed a magic trick, she holds it up for viewing pleasure. ]

[Look up in the sky. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it some sort of cat-rabbit creature with ears far too big for its head managing to stay afloat by flapping them? Three guesses what's up and the first two don't count.

Normally Klonoa could never get this kind of height without some sort of updraft, but thankfully his emotions are filling in by providing a strong breeze blowing up and allowing him to float along happily in the air... This has some drawbacks.

While Klonoa might be happy, all the wind blowing around beneath him to keep him in the air is probably making it difficult if you're out for a stroll or trying to eat something outside at a cafe. Also if his emotions shift and the winds stop... Well congrats, you get a furry creature crashing into you from above with a--]

Manyaa!! Sorry, I'm better at landings than that!

[It's incredibly rare Klonoa ever gets a chance to travel to a dream where he can just chill out and have fun. As such he's going all in with feeding the animals. He's surround by a group of fawns and goats all clamouring to get at the apples he's holding onto which he's trying to give out evenly.]

There's enough for all of you, don't push! Didn't I give you three apples already? You guys are never full.

[The weird sight of some kind of furry creature feeding a bunch of animals aside, it only gets weirder when a hungry alpaca wanders over and steals his hat without Klonoa even noticing. With each slow chew more of that blue hat slowly disappears into the alpacas mouth. Please save the hat.]

[Does he get the magical girl craze? No, not really. He feels Lolo might appreciate it but that's about it. As he wanders around Verens, Klonoa is descended upon by a group of magical girl enthusiasts who start shrieking about him being the perfect sidekick! He must enter the talent show! He's sooo cute! Look at those ears they're so big, they're a 10 by themselves!!

... Klonoa meanwhile isn't so impressed and looks as though he wants to escape as he stands there and suffers through his ears being yanked on and his cheeks being pinched. This is too much. Part of him wonders if he'd rather fight Ghadius again then deal with this.

Thankfully he has his amulet with him, so Klonoa quickly sends out a message.]

Help me. They're going to pull my ears off like this. It feels like they've been doing this for hours and they haven't stopped!

[The Dream Traveler doesn't often have to ask for help. But this is a special case. An especially weird case.]

[ While Belle is still trying to get the hang of the whole emotion aspect of this place, there is one thing she knows how to do and it's milk a cow. So she has enlisted the help of someone else to help her with this task and now they're standing in the doorway of the barn together. She has a bucket and towel in hand, ready to tackle this task. With a curious look to her enlisted partner, Belle moves towards the cow. ]

I'll milk her and you do your best to calm her down.

[ She can help a bit by being calm and gentle with the poor creature. ]

[ Someone's just found the library and can't contain her thoughts on seeing it. Enjoy. ]

There's so many books! It's so wonderful. I could stay here for a very long time. [ In the library, she means. ] Where do you even start?

[ Sheep. So many sheep. Belle has plenty of practice dodging them in her town but herding them is quite the different story. Luckily, she's had her fair share of taking care of animals so it isn't too difficult. One of them is moving along in front of her as she guides it back towards the pen. ]

Come on, it's time to go home. That's right. Just like that. [ Her voice is soft and sweet, encouraging the sheep to move rather than force it.

Or perhaps she's searching for the next one and comes across someone having trouble. ]

You have to be nice and calm. They're more likely to listen to you.

[ One can bet they'll find Belle either working or reading in the library but other options are available too! ]

[From his more or less fetal position down here on the ground, Tae-Jun watches Jae-Ha's feet appear and listens to him shoo away a few sheep before he can muster up the energy to look up at his face. It's very hard. He looks up, and...

...it's this guy...? Princess Yona's Green Friend, who's name is..........

It is at this point that he's raised a hand to point at Jae-Ha, expression blank besides his vague recognition, and has held this pose for another few seconds. Uh.]

...The other musclehead? [he's fine]

[If there was one thing that Rosabella couldn't ignore, it was a creature in trouble. So with all the sheep loose in town, she of course has to stop and help.

There's one sheep in particular that's hidden amongst some shrubbery, but Rosabella is ever patient as she gently tries to coax it out.]

It's all right. I know you're scared, but everything is going to be just fine.

[ All it takes is a glance to see what's happening here, a girl trying to get one of the wayward sheep to come out of hiding. However, the hiding spot just so happens to be a shrub.

There might be a chance that even if the animal did want to come out, it would get wool stuck in the branches. That would only cause the sheep to panic even more. So Belle stops and moves closer to the pair, standing next to Rosabella. ]

We may have to help it out. It could end up caught and trapped which would only scare the poor thing.

[ Belle is still keeping calm, not wanting to add to the stress. ]

[She nods, slowly rising to her feet.]

I thought about that too. I wanted to make sure it was calm down first, though, before getting too close. I was worried that it would get spooked if I got too close too soon.

[She glances at Belle as she speaks, but then has to do a double-take.]

...Mom?

[ The girl is smart, getting the animal to trust her a little before moving to help. Belle knows she's had to calm Philippe when the big horse get skittish. She nods in understanding.

Just when she's about to say she'll go get a brush to perhaps help, the girl looks at her again and then says something unbelievable. Her shock and disbelief cause the air to chill a bit around them. ]

You must have mistaken me for someone else. I don't have any children. [ Though Gaston was keen to try and talk her into it. And with Beast well... things were still complicated there. ]

[She hesitates a moment, unable to keep from staring. Then, shaking herself out of it, she glances away, pushing her glasses up a bit higher.]

O-Oh, sorry...I thought... [Clearing her throat, she turns back to her with a smile.] You're right. Sorry about that.

Anyway...we should probably help this little guy.

[ Since Rosabella is staring, Belle looks back at her. If she's honest with herself, there is something familiar about the girl. Her appearance and demeanor. As much as Belle is not ready to have children, she doesn't want to deny the girl just in case this is her daughter.

Belle's accepted a castle full of people enchanted to be household items and a prince who is a Beast - even the fact that this is another world with it's own brand of magic. A magic even she is capable of.

So she lays a gentle hand on the girl's shoulder. ] Wait, please. Tell me your mother's name?

[ A request, not a demand but the firm tone of voice may suggest that she isn't going to give up easily. Neither of them can help this sheep if they're unsettled by each other. ]
