Before I can take it in, it needs to be taken to a vet and have its health checked. There's also the possibility that the dog could have a previous owner—it seems too well-behaved to have been born a stray.
[Not that it's impossible for a stray to still be friendly to humans, but the dog does seem docile. The thought that it could have ran away or gotten lost is still a possibility, and if it's true, reuniting it with its owner could be another kind of happy ending, isn't it? Assuming the owner exists and isn't a piece of trash.]
