Well, both those explanations fit into what Ritsuka would consider a 'cursed' weapon of some sort. More or less. One of the side effects of associating with the spirits of heroes of legend is being exposed to a lot of said legends, including some of the not so pleasant for the hero ones.

Any of them could undoubtedly block, dodge, or simply shrug off any ordinary human's attack, so if this is remotely similar, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. And Ritsuka figures Mairon can be trusted not to put himself at risk of injury so easily.

She strikes decisively, the trust she places in his assurance that he won't be harmed allowing her follow through without holding back.
