Or maybe it just decided to be an even louder boy? Simon isn't willing to be that optimistic, however, now when their lives are at stake. Worst possible scenario where both him and Markus end up getting stomped on or eaten-- that's definitely playing through his mind over and over.
Doesn't help when they finally reach the end of their pathway, the road ending at a steep cliff. Simon just barely manages to stop himself in time, balancing himself on the edge as he looks down at the water.
