D; DINO FUN RUN
[It isn’t his standard fare of clothing.

The design itself is nice, he’ll give it that. Bold with eye-catching typography, the triumphant declaration of I successfully ran away from a 'Dinosaur’! printed across the chest in blocky letters. The color, however, is an eye-searingly bright yellow-green — he's fairly certain that he’ll be seen from at least a mile away in this thing — and compared to his usual fare of earthen colors and dark hues, Markus cuts quite a noticeable figure.

But embarrassment is ever a far away thing for this particular android. Garnered attention is not something to shy away from; especially when a completed run is to each their own personal victory, all in good humor, acting as a preamble for an even more admirable cause in the coming days. So when someone passes by as Markus is smoothing down the front of his new tee, mismatched eyes lift up and he asks in a faintly joking tone—]

Ironic, right? You won’t be losing any kind of dinosaur’s attention in this color, much less outrun one.

E-1; TEAMWORK
[He’s ditched the highlighter-green shirt for something a little more practical, a little more in line with Markus’ own tastes, when the day comes to start actually collecting the fruit required for the return journey. The choice of semi-athetetic clothing is made for comfort and movability, and Markus will be needing the latter aplenty if he’s to fill a facsimile of a cloth duffel bag (slung over a shoulder, he adjusts it in a loose grip) with Amaranthus Rubus.

Standing beneath tall, shaking branches mottled with hanging fruit, he’s already run at least five different precursory scans. They plot out troublesome routes that won’t go as smoothly as he’d like — a branch unable to sustain his body weight, a leap a little too far, a grab that would be just a few inches too short and at the wrong angle, et cetera. He could do it, of course, if he really exerted the effort, but there are minute chances for a fall and a tumble that he’d rather circumvent altogether.

Which means recruiting a bit of help. There’s no hesitation, then, in utilizing the amulet.]

Could use a boost from anyone who happens to be nearby. I’d owe you one.

E-2; DINO NOT-SO-FUN RUN
[Well, friend, they’ve made it up the tree. Perched up a decent height from the ground below, plucked smooth pearl-like fruit from their stems, have turned this excursion into something of a success; they won’t be going back empty-handed.

If they can manage to go back at all.

Because there’s a reason Markus and his helpful companion haven’t yet climbed back down. There’s a reason why he balances just-so, keeping the soles of his shoes planted firmly against an even stretch of the large branch he now calls his home, why fingers press hard onto the tree’s trunk, steadying his frame as he looks at what awaits them below.

A pack of raptors, overly eager, looking back up at them with occasionally snapping maws. Teeth sharp, tails lashing, hind legs impatiently kicking up dirt from the ground. They’re hungry, aggressive, and eying their too-high targets, ready to intercept them the moment they come down.

Markus frowns, pushing down any amount of reasonable anxiety that buoys up just looking down at the predators below. The leaves surrounding them shudder and shake, a few curl slightly with drying edges, but these small changes are paid little attention to — instead, the android casts an askance look at his companion, brow knit tight.]

How fast can you run if I provide a distraction?

[HOPEFULLY IT'S REALLY FAST]

[Or hit me with something else!]
