As it turns out, once you save Olympus the gods seem to take that as a sign that you can be their chosen demigod hero for a while. I'm pretty sure you've been on at least two life-threatening quests, narrowly avoided a third smaller one and may potentially get dragged into a bigger one. You've been to hell and back.
[ Considering Percy has been to the Underworld twice, it means something when Nico uses the word "hell". Though it might be better if the older demigod doesn't know all of the horrible details of the quests, part of it is weird. Percy is missing an experience that he sort of shared with him and now Nico feels as if he can't talk about it even if he wanted to.
All demigods attract trouble but it always feels like Percy is good at falling into the really bad ones. ]
Sometimes I wonder if the gods cursed you after you were born with how things always seem to go wrong when I'm around you. [ Once upon a time, that statement from Nico would be filled with bitterness and betrayal, now he just sounds resigned and that may even be a hint of teasing sass.
This is the point where he waits for the other shoe to drop. His gaze moves over the rabbits, over the shrubs and...
Nothing. The bunnies keep hopping and nibbling on the grass, only the wind ruffles the leaves of the bushes and no stone guardian rises from the ground to try to stomp them to death. All this nothingness only makes Nico more suspicious. Shadows of the surrounding area grow darker and longer, stretching towards the pair of demigods. ]

It seriously can't be that easy.
